Forestry investor visa
Reviewed by Hassim Patel Bhana, Managing Partner · Updated
The forestry investor visa is for investors in reforestation projects authorised by the Ministry of Environment. At least $100,000 qualifies you, and $350,000 gives permanent residency from the start. The investment must stay in place for at least five years. Below the higher threshold the permit is provisional first, then permanent.

Frequently asked questions
What does the extra $350,000 buy?
Permanent residency from the start, instead of a provisional permit that converts later.
Can I sell the investment after I am approved?
The investment must stay in place for at least five years.
Does any reforestation project qualify?
Only projects authorised by the Ministry of Environment.
How long are my documents valid?
Six months from the date each document was issued, not from the date it was apostilled. That is why we ask you to request them close to filing rather than at the start of your planning.
