Parent of a Panamanian child
Reviewed by Hassim Patel Bhana, Managing Partner · Updated
This route is for foreigners with one or more Panamanian children. The child must be at least five years old, which is the condition people most often miss: a newborn Panamanian child does not open this route yet. It grants provisional residency for two years, then permanent residency.

Frequently asked questions
My child was just born in Panama. Can I apply?
Not through this route yet. The child must be at least five years old.
Does more than one child help?
One Panamanian child aged five or older is what the route requires.
Is it permanent residency straight away?
No. Provisional residency for two years first, then permanent.
How long are my documents valid?
Six months from the date each document was issued, not from the date it was apostilled. That is why we ask you to request them close to filing rather than at the start of your planning.
